Argentina became the first team into the semi-finals of the Davis Cup as they took an unquestionable 3-0 lead in their tie against Kazakhstan in Buenos Aires. In a tie a day to the lead of the other three quarter-finals, Juan Ignacio Chela and Eduardo Schwank beat Evgeny Korolev and Yuriy Schukin 6-3 6-2 7-5 to add to the two singles victories yesterday.
It meant Argentina sealed their progress without dropping a set and will next face either Serbia or Sweden in September's semi-finals.
