Unseeded Radek Stepanek upset No.1 Gael Monfils to win the title at the Legg Mason Tennis Classic. Stepanek beat the world number seven 6-4 6-4 in Washington for his fifth singles title.
Stepanek, 32, never faced a break point in the match as he won in 93 minutes. The Czech had lost his earlier two meetings against Monfils, and sports 3-5 record against the Frenchman. It his primary title since he won the ATP World Tour 250 in San Jose in 2009.
